The PTO will be hosting a picnic-themed luncheon on Thursday, May 11 for Staff Appreciation! It will feature a make-your-own slider bar, in honor of our wonderful teachers and staff.  We need YOUR help to make this event a success!!

Ben Mikaelsen is the author of numerous classic books such as Petey, Touching Spirit Bear, Countdown, Stranded, Jungle of Bones, Tree Girl, Sparrow Hawk Red, and several others.

The first social of 2017 was a tremendous success! Thank you to Marisa Etkin and Rebecca Whelan and all of the volunteer chaperones and bakers. A great time was had by all with record attendance!


Thank you Carri Pan for organizing Niska Games for VA! The kids had a great time!!


The Donation Drive officially wrapped up on December 31st! But, donations are always welcome and can be sent in an envelope marked ATT: VA PTO thru the main office or your child's homeroom teacher.

Thank you Marisa Etkin, Rebecca Whelan, Mr. McFerran and all the WEB leaders and parent vounteers that made this year's Halloween Social a smashing success!!!!!!


Thank you to the Ice Cream Social and Book Fair organizers: Mr. Rakoczy, Mrs. Redman, Florence Lynds and Aliza Mesbahi; and all of the teachers and parent volunteers that made the event a huge success! We were able to put $ 750.00 worth of books into the classrooms and media center!  


The 6th Grade Social was a HUGE success!  Many thanks to Rebecca Whelan, Marisa Etkin and all of the parent volunteers!



If you missed the PTO table at the team Back to School nights, its not to late to join.  You can send the $ 10.00 membership dues in an envelope marked ATTN: PTO to the main office, or thru your child's homeroom teacher.  Your membership helps to support classroom activities and events throughout the school year!

PTO Membership
PTO dues are just $ 10.00. Dues are collected at Back to School Night or they can be sent in an envelope marked ATTN: PTO and given to your child's homeroom teacher or handed in at the main office.  Checks should be made out to VA PTO. Please include your child’s name and grade on the envelope! Thank you for your support!

Our Mission :The Van Antwerp PTO is here to: provide programs and activities that encourage social growth within the students in our community; provide support to the teachers in our community; and provide opportunity for parents in our community to stay active in students’ growth.

 There are many ways for you to stay active in your student's growth. 

Join the PTO!  PTO dues are $ 10.00.  Dues go directly to the teachers in the form of classroom support and help to offset the cost of PTO activities throughout the school year.  Dues can be sent to the main office in an envelope marked ATTN: PTO.

Attend PTO meetings! Learn what is going on in the school and give input on PTO activities.

Join a committee!
 Sign up to help out or chair a committee.  Contact the PTO President for more information.

Participate in one or more of our fundraisers!
 Throughout the year the PTO sponsors various fundraisers including the Apparel Sale, Dine Out evenings, and Mother’s Day Plant Sale.  Our largest fundraiser is the Donation Drive.
